UpMyStreet as you remember it is gone: acquired by Zoopla in 2012 and folded into it, with the old domain now pointing at Zoopla (observed July 2026). There is no single like-for-like heir. For the individual data UpMyStreet aggregated, the official sources are free and authoritative: police.uk for crime, GOV.UK for flood risk, HM Land Registry for sold prices, Ofsted for schools. What happened to UpMyStreet?
UpMyStreet.com launched in 1998 and became one of the UK's best-known sites for neighbourhood statistics by postcode (crime, schools, house prices and local demographics) long before that data was easy to find. It changed hands more than once over the years and was acquired by Zoopla in May 2012, after which the standalone service was discontinued. Today the domain no longer runs its own site: a request to www.upmystreet.com resolves to Zoopla, returning a TLS certificate issued for zoopla.co.uk (observed July 2026). The UpMyStreet you remember is, functionally, closed.
One clarification worth making: a separate, independent project at upmystreet.org has rebuilt a similar neighbourhood-data idea using modern open data. It is not connected to the original UpMyStreet brand, to Zoopla, or to HouseCheckup. We mention it only so you're not confused by the similar name.
