Recent improvements to HouseCheckup property reports and to this site, newest first.
October 2026
Lite and Complete are now clearly different
The Lite and Complete reports now contain different sections, and each option on the order page lists exactly what that report includes. A Lite report also names every section that Complete would add.
Five new guides to help you choose
New side-by-side guides on how a property report differs from a conveyancing search pack and from a survey, what a report should cost, and what doing the checks yourself involves.
September 2026
Flood scoring in England uses the mapped risk band
In England, the flood part of the score is now based on the mapped surface-water risk band for the postcode location. Flood-warning areas nearby are still shown for context, but they no longer change the score.
August 2026
One search box for everything
The search box now accepts a postcode, a full address or a town, and takes you to the right page.
Flood history for addresses in Wales
Reports for addresses in Wales now include recorded flood extents from the Welsh flood authority.
Air quality and ground-hazard ratings
Reports now include local air quality and the ground-hazard ratings published by the UK geological survey.
Checks that cannot run are named, not passed
If a check cannot be run at an address, the report now names it and leaves it out of the score rather than counting it as a pass.
July 2026
Addresses in Scotland
Addresses in Scotland can now be checked. The checks that are not available for Scottish addresses are listed before you buy.
How this home is built
Complete reports now include a section on how the home is built. When the energy certificate records non-standard construction, the report says so plainly and explains why it can matter for mortgage lending.
See the contents before you pay
The order page now shows the report's table of contents for your address before you pay.
Council tax checker
The council tax checker now shows your council's charge for every band, and links to the official register for the property's own band.
