Use the map to plan a viewing

Listen outside and inside, with windows open and closed. Compare the rooms you will use for sleeping or working. A modelled outdoor road-noise result cannot capture a neighbour, delivery yard, flight path or a home's sound insulation.

Ask a more specific question

Keep the map's source, date and units with your notes. If noise would change your decision, investigate the particular source rather than treating a missing map band as reassurance.
